Just found an article on Yahoo! News [news.yahoo.com] about how Google is eyeing web services as a new frontier of their business.

I know we've talked about this before, and Brett suggested at one time it would be a nice lead into micropayments...but I guess since I have yet to see anything *that* novel from their API so far, I wonder if anything truly 'innovative' will be made with it.

Does anybody know if Google has released any numbers on applications being created with their API?

There will be some good PR (sorry...) if they do list some of the novel uses.

I'd vote for the TouchGraph app. Very nice.

I already found one, but I'm not sure if I can list the URL due to forum policy (mods? let me know;-) Basically, it's a WHOIS thingy where you can searh on a word to find all registered domains with that word in. EG a search of widget could bring you [widget.com,...] [greenwidget.com,...] [widgetstuff.co.uk......]

It's a cool toy to play with *happy*

And after seeing a few referrels in my stats from people peeking at my profile today.. I should probably add that I don't actually own the whois site ;-) I just stumbled across it and spent a happy hour playing with it. The site in my profile is just my hobby site;-) If you want the URL for the whois site, sticky me

*goes to check her sticky mail is turned on*
