hello everyone,
Fisrt of all let me introduce my self ..i am mrdelhiite from india and i am a new kid on the seo's block .I joied a company after i finish my undergrad and started working as SEO trainee..
here is my problum..our company site was up and being listed in google ..1 month back i altered the site to reflect the current target keywords with all title relivency and external links to respective pages( i did not use any spamming ).The day i updated my site the new pages appeared in the google( only teh base ones) and there ranking was updated with the new set of target phrases. But to my surprise withing 5 days the google has reverted back to the old pages ( showing old pages title and even has old page cahsed in it ) ..this is most surprising to me as once the cased getting updated how can it revert back to old content ....i have checke both www2.google.com and www3.google.com and it teh updated was present the date of visit but now it is jut not there ( teh new ones)
i added a new tag after new pages getting indexed ( before reverting to old oned)
<meta name="expires" content="never">
is all this because of this tag (* though i know it is actually used to tell teh spider never to bring site out of database..
I just hope that theer is a logical answer to all this ...
waiting to hear from you.
thank you

Welcome to the forums mrdelhiite

I wouldn't worry too much, it will probably be OK in the next update.

There are often fluctuations during the month, and these usually resolve at the next update.

I don't think that particular tag makes much difference these days, but in case you are in doubt, just remove it.

This has been answered many times here, but i guess it is hard to find the right search terms for an answer!

When a new page is linked from a page on your site that is spidered between monthly updates, it will appear for a few days before dropping out. It will re-appear in the next major monthly update pemanently (as long as it it's "legal" I guess). That is my experience, and i think most of others here from what I have read for the past 6 months at least.
