Just wondering if anyone here has ever sent a DMCA ntoice to Google over copyright infringement?

Some guy ripped off our whole site and stuck it on his own servers with new ad banners (grrr).

Along with other action, we sent a DMCA notice to Google about three weeks ago. We haven't heard anything as yet and were wondering about the time to respond.

I wonder if an overnight FedEx letter from a lawyer, addressed to a senior executive, would accelerate the process any.

no it shouldn't - are you sending it to the address listed here:

[google.com...]

I have heard they will act swiftly IF YOU MAKE A VALID complaint. I have heard they will pretty ,uch ignore you if you don't.

I have seen dmca complaints in my industry quite a few times (dealing with copyrighted photos) and 9 out of 10 times people DO NOT DO THEM CORRECTLY.

You may want to also try doing a DMCA with his or her host. I have done that several times with no problems. Check to see if they have an agent listed with the copyright office - otherwise you get respoinses from morons most of the time.
