If so can someone give a timeline type history of the results.
Sometimes you feel like you are sending email to the deepsix server of the mailservers at google. so it is hard to believe that reporting abusive practices really does any good.
True.. true ... if it wasn't so much fun to figure out we wouldn't be here, sipping coffee till the late night and waiting monthly to see some results :)
So point me to the kind and gentle forum where there are 101 answers to give customers why they are not top 10 ! Should i just tell them we are too honest and we don't like to spam? it's admirable isnt it :)

ultragenius, probably no answer would be right for your customers, but if you're looking for the reasons why their sites are not in the top 10, you've come to the right place.
Take your time, sit back+relax and have a nice evening sipping your coffee and reading back [webmasterworld.com] posts. [webmasterworld.com] ;)
Why not trust Googles skills in detecting spam? Nowadays the only thing we don't have is time.
When I'm searching and get blatantly spammy results, it takes only a moment to report the problem to Google. Time really isn't an issue--especially for people who have time to voice opinions at Webmaster World. :-)
What do I mean by "blatantly spammy results"? I'll give you one example: A site that was listed as a travel guide and was really nothing more than a hotel affiliate site in disguise. Okay, that wasn't not so bad in itself, but what WAS bad was finding that same pseudo-travel guide listed three times in the top 10 for a popular search phrase...yep, the same site at three URLs, two of which redirected to the first. Then there was the fact that users got trapped if they tried to leave, with multiple windows popping up on their screens in true porn-site style. I'd have been neglecting my moral duty to Google, other users, Jesus, and the civilized world if I HADN'T reported the site for spamming.
Too bad Google didn't ban the site outright--it seemed to disappear from Google's SERP for a while, but it's back in the #1 position (and two other positions under other URLs on the first page), where it's still trapping readers and spawning browser windows.
Googleguy, if you want the name of the site, just StickyMail me. The presence of such blatant spam is an insult to the intelligence of all those Ph.D.'s on Google's payroll. :-)
The site could be removed by a moderator if it didn't contain the spam claimed (hence avoiding any slander issues).
The same forum could be used to appeal against PageRank zero leaving Google News blissfully free of hard luck stories, griping and complaining about unfair competition.
Hell, if nothing else we could all have a good laugh and maybe even see what gets you banned and what doesn't.
Just an idea ;)
