From reading my traffic logs, the G-Bot gave us a good lick at the beginning of the month, but the "cache" and description still show the old content. It's been over two weeks, I had expected (hoped?) for an update. In other words, it shows the old first paragraph from the front page and the old Flash graphic in cache.
Am I missing something?

Just because Google has spidered your site doesn't mean you have been included in their index. Google does a large update once a month (usually around the 22nd) at which time you will should be able to see something. Keep your eyes open in the Google News forum to see exactly when the update is happening.

googlebot may crawl you pages anytime during the month, but those that get into the permanent index, not the "everflux", are <usually> those that were crawled before the latest update begins. Do a site search (link at top of page) on "everflux" to learn more about what happens duing the update better known as "the dance".
Check www2.google.com and www3.google.com while the dance is going on to get an indication of which pages may make it into the permanent index.

That's what I've been watching for, but I thought that it took "about two weeks."
I'll check back later in the month. Just being impatient...
