On one of my pages, the user can change the month that is displayed. Do these option values get spidered by Googlebot too, or should I change to text links?

Thanks,
Jim F.

Jim,

Google sees *everything* that is in the source of the page, I have a feeling it does use your drop-drop list values but don't quote me on it. :)

Even if it didn't do you really want to change to text links? The dropdowns seem the best way to do it, and is it really worth making users lives harder just to get a little boost in your SE results...

(That's a rhetorical question, and besides I can think of several users whose lives *should* be harder - if I got PR for making their lives harder it would just be a plus :) )

p.s. you might want to consider removing the site URL as its against the board rules to drop URLs

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Jim

As long as these are regular html forms, as yours seem to be, the options will be read by googlebot.

Tony, Sinner_G, thanks for the prompt replies.

No, I really don't want to change to text links, but if it meant a higher PR, I would consider it. :)

'url dropping'? I thought it was an example... oh well... rules are rules I suppose.

Thanks for the welcome :).
