How many pages am i allowed!?

is there a limit?

Is there a limit to how many pages from one site google will index?
Im thinking of optimising about 800 pages? Do you think this is a problem with google?

I would not worry about 800 pages

MIT, for example has more than 900.000 pages indexed [google.com]

Getting many pages indexed seems to have to do with straight links and high Pagerank throughout your site. Check this thread:

i have a dynamic site that has around 4k pages in the database and several static sites with several hundred pages.

i've heard members here talking about 60k pages in the db

WebmasterWorld itself has approx 9000 i think

Thanks for your answers, one more thing...

is it considered keyword stuffing if each of the pages (800!) is targeted at one particular key phrase as below?

so if I was selling books one page may have... "second hand books" and another may have "second hand book seller" as their titles and also dotted around in the main text body, along with some appropriate images and accompanying text.

with some other keyword linktext at the base of the page linking to other pages.

I've seen other sites doing this so assume this is ok?

MIT was over a million pages when I clicked on your link....
they must add content like crazy. I think they have webmaster designed with artificial intelligence or something....sucking off the knowledge of this board.

No.

Not for clarity towards the visitor :)
and
Not for Pagerank purposes.

Putting 800 links on one page just for the Googlebot to find them would suggest that the 800 pages have little to do with each other. Normally pages within a site link towards each other naturally because they are theme or subject related.
