Dmoz categoreis

linking to google categories.

When browsing through the categories at DMOZ i stumbled across a link to the same category but on directory.google.com what do dmoz gain from linking to google. is this perhaps part of the agrement of google using the Dmoz data?

The link I found was an image link (green ball) towards the bottom of the pages.

Notice that Google has a reciprocal link to dmoz.org on all their directory pages. There are a number of other sites that are using DMOZ data besides Google. Obviously, the DMOZ considers Google to be of greater importance, and thus links just to Google. The DMOZ stature increased greatly by becoming the official Google directory.
