I'm considering the possibility to buy 100.000 banner impressions through tradedoubler or another affiliate provider company. Banners would appear in several webs. Will google consider this as links to my web , and therefore improving my pr? (I assume that affiliates insert a code in their html that points to the provider cgi, and then the cgi points to my web)

No benefit to PR or link popularity with these type of advertising/affiliate networks. They do NOT show up as backlinks!

Hi,

I am using an affiliate program that allows direct links to the domain name instead of redirects to the provider's server and then a redirect to mine. Currently I am using it to track my RPCs on SEs. But I intend to launch my affiliate program shortly - just waiting on the creative folks to get the banners done.

I have also heard that there are some free cgi programs that do the same thing.

regards,
