Google Switches 404 Page Format

Appears the Google 404 page [google.com...] has been switched from graphics to text.

Must be a bandwidth issue?

It saves them bandwidth and it offers a better user experience for the rest of us. Nice idea.

I wonder if <img alt="" width=1 height=4> in the bottom table cell has advantages over &nbsp;?
