Hi, I'm new here. I've been recruited from google.support etc..

Out of curiosity, I placed some of the major search phrases worldwide from July, in plain text at the bottom of my index page. I wasn't using my commercial site - just a "play" site.

My hits went up for a few days but someone at Google has obviously hit the porridge button. "It was only a laugh and a rather fun experiment M'lord".

Any idea how long will I be locked up for?

Hi, welcome to WebmasterWorld. From what I can see in your post, it seems to me you have done nothing to get spanked. If your site suddenly showed up in Google since the last update, then probably it's just floating around on some of their servers, visible one day, missing the next, and will be back on a full-time basis with the September update. Unless there is more to the story, don't worry about it.

I was hit at 13:28 today by 194.9.188.1 - since then it went all dark.

However, sitting here enjoying these threads I'm worrying less :)

When your site is in Google, is there a date in green, next to your URL in the listing?

If so then it looks as though you are not in the main database this month, but you are getting 'Fresh' listings. You may expect to be back in at the next Google Update [webmasterworld.com].
