Significance? or Value? of www2 & www3. in Google

Are the results obtained really a forecast of positions for next month?.

Having read in other forums various guesstimates and concerned opinions about where users sites were appearng when they typed in their keywords using these (possible future? serps) and having tried it myself and seen little difference, between any of the 3, I would appreciate getting some knowledgeable feedback on this topic.

Are they just 2 different coloured pigeons?

Seems to me that Googlewatching has taken over from Pokemon among the guys and gals who haunt these forums. :)

www2 and www3 are groups of staging servers. When Google rolls out the new index, it will first show up on www2 and www3. Then, during a process involving much aspirin, beer, Prozac and Maalox for Googlewatchers, the index erratically rolls out to the main www.
