Hi, my site was PR5 during the past several months, I didn't change anything, but this August's update, google drop it down to PR3.
Also, it used have over 50 BLinks, but now it is nothing.

All my other three websites are the same, could anybody give me a hint?
Actually, all these websites are different IPs and without cross links.

Well, there is always the possibility that the PR of some of the sites that link to yours has decreased, affecting your site's PR in turn.

Your site's PR3 is below the threshhold Google uses to show backlinks. If you had PR4, you could pull up a list of those backlinks, but not at PR3.

Oh well Jimpo at least I'm not the only one. Had a pr4 for 6 months, have not done any online promotion in 3 years. Have loads of links out and very few in.

Waiting for a client to come back from holiday so testing can start and I thought I might as well do some promotion and beef up my meta data. The August review now gives me PR1. So I guess I need to back track and work out what the problem is. The question is where to start?

BTW great resource. Thanks to all for sharing the knowledge.

Interesting you mention this Beachboy. I have been suffering a PR2 penalty for 10 months now (down from PR6) and realised that the failure to see any backward links was associated with this.

However, the search on "pages which contain the term www.widget.com " DOES bring up those pages which are linking or showing links to you.

Just acts as a sort of re-assurance while you are patiently waiting for re-instatement or "doing porridge" as our pommy friends would say.

Thanks for all the reply!
I don't think the BLink is gone, because it is still listed on DMOZ(PR7).

Also, one of my sites is updated everyday, it has a PR4, haven't been up nor down, but just disappear backlinks (actually I have other two sites which has PR5 to link to this site, but now gone.),

So many strange things, I guess it is because google has some servers stored the linking information, they are re-calculated or/and updated by a different schedule with the index updates, as these update are not synchronizated, the result would be strange.
So, let me review them by next updates and see if my guess is correct.
