I've been reading through these posts trying to figure why 3 servers, why 3 different sets of results with google. Under www, i have no listings but under www3 and www2 sll psges are cashed and i have great listings.. I'm assuming from reading here, that that's a good thing, being listed high in ww3.. anway for the last two days, i've been a nervous reck.. trying to figure out what's happening..

so the bottom line question is why 3 servers.. and do the results after the dance end up in the main server?

As a site search would have brought up www2, www3.google.com are temporary google dbs with the freshest results. After final sorting these result go to www.google.com

alamanos, welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Yes the results from www2 and www3 end up on www, they are sort of the test servers so to speak. The start updating on those 2 servers to make sure everything is come out right then transfer it over the www. The reason they call it the dance is because everything changes so much for about a week while the dance is going on.
