Any insight into why some pages will show a complete set of backwards links, even internal ones, whiles other pages won't show even one, internal or external?

Most of it has to do with PageRank. It appears sites with PR of 4 or higher will show backwards links. I have not seen a page that will show all of the links. Usually google will only show half as clickable links. It also seems internal pages with low PR don't get counted towards the backwards links.
