Google shows meta descriptions?

It show meta's when you search for link: or related:

Has anyone seen that?

It was just showing the first paragraph before, remember that?

I curse the day I decided to just save some time on writing those.

It was mentioned [webmasterworld.com] that Google now display the META description if the search phrase matches it, otherwise snippets.

For me it's the opposite, I'm now deleting them. I like the snippets because they show how my page relates to the search, not just what I think it's about.
