Hi all,

I got a site but never submit to search engine. It is for testing purpose. A bit surprise to see PR 0 ( white PR ) when I visited it.

From the Google Knowledge Base,

Q: [PageRank] What is PageRank 0?
A: PageRank 0 (or just PR0) refers to a sites PageRank value. Most often, a site with a PageRank that has fallen dramatically to zero, has been penalized is some form.

Okay ... now I want to make something serious. Should I use back site with PR 0 or register a new domain ? Any chance for PR 0 sites dropped from being penalised ?

Thanks.

Presumably you know why it is a PR0 so you are better situated to make the decision. But why start with -0- when a new domain name, avoiding all the dirty tricks that got you into trouble, with a couple good links can easily be a PR4?

Has your PR fallen dramatically or did it just never exist.

I have a domain for my daughter that was zero for about a year and a 1/2, we never really did anything with it.

We later used it for a school project. Some friends linked some directory listings were gained and now it's a solid 5.

It really depends on why you have the 0.

If your site is new and you have not submitted it to search engine then your Page Rank zero is probably because Google doesn’t know it exists.

Even when you add your URL to Google it will need to find links to your site before it can assign a PR value.

If you did have a PR value before and it has now dropped to zero then that will either indicate that you no longer have any inbound links or that you have been subject to a penalty.

If your site is new an has never had a PR value then now is the time go forward with your current domain name and actively promote your website. Try and get some good inbound links. Preferably from related sites, open directory project and yahoo!

If you have been penalised and you know it! it may be best to use a new domain and start over but avoid doing whatever it was that got you penalised in the first place.
