my site gets ranked #1
puzzled????
My site does not mention my name so how the heck is google indexing me? I can only assume that it is a) because of my profile here. b) because I have signed a few guestbooks in my time all with the url of the the site homepage.
This is weird and surely a twist on how google indexes sites. It seems to be prejudging that "frank rizzo" owns [mysite] therefore it displays [mysite].
search [google.com]
Probably some of both. But don't make the mistake of thinking that Google is associating your name with your site, they are associating the words "frank rizzo" with the site.
I don't know if it is an honour or not to be #1 infront of the ex mayor of philly
Google algo probably docks politicians automatically - so you come out ahead =p
This does raise an interesting point though. I am relatively sure google does not use whois information, but it might not be a bad idea. Then i could easily search all my techie friends to find all the domains they own via google.
I was just wondering if link titles come to play, thanks fot this answer.
You're so lucky, to have your site pop up on a search for your name - mine doesn't as I am out of the Google index for a month (hey, does anybody know when is the next update).

even worse Google suggests that my name should be Martin Tkachev
i learned this from the site: c0.nl that is a sort of doorway page maker, their sites scores high, and use this(below), i started using this a long time ago.
<a href="yoursite">Free</a>
<a href="yoursite">Widgets</a>
<a href="yoursite">Buy</a>
now you will score high for these 3 words.
With <h1>free widgets</h1>
you will rank good depending on your pr.
