Does this help?

Probably stupid question from someone who has not the slightest idea about php. I got an incoming link from a high PR php page. The link looks like this:
www.xyzdomain.com/j?jump=823147
Does this help my own PR in any way?

bluemi, if that URL ends up in a "link:" search then it probably does count (you can only check this for PR4 or higher pages).

I would check the cache for that page, follow a link and then check backlinks.
