how to promote web site on new server without losing PR and current traffic

Will this be at another URL? Or moving your domain to a new server? If the former, put up a "we've moved" page with a link to the new site, and inform all sites linking to you of the new URL. The problem often is getting sites linking to you to change the link.

A company decided to move everything to a one server and new URL.

Trucker,you can also use a server side redirect for the whole site. Look up 301 redirect in the site search, there have been a number of discussions about it.
