Google News results showing up on REGULAR search

looks like Google News might be coming out of beta... I am seeing results below the Sponsored Listings and above the results in regular search mode.

this was the only thread I found related to Google News...

...so this maybe 'new' news to us

This has been a longtime feature of Google. I don't know if the results are being pulled from the news search engine or not.

Do a search for China. You'll get three results for news at this writing. The three results match the three results at Google News, but a) they're in a different order, and b) several other results on the news result page, just as relevant, are not included. Ah well. I guess it's YAGM -- Yet Another Google Mystery. :->

hmmm.... I just did the 'China' search and got no news.... then tried it again from the search box on the serp and got three.... went back to the index, search again, and got the same three.

anyway, sorry for the false alarm.... I guess none of the searches I do ever have any related news until today when they appeared on a search I have been doing for some time.
