GOogle Banned sites - Do the bots avoid them?

I've been checking my logs and have noticed that googlebot has paid me a visit to some of my sites last night.

A site that dropped to a greyed out page rank bar in mid July didn't get spidered at all. I am not sure if the site was banned or it was dropped from google when I have server problems...

Anyhow, does googlebot avoid crawling banned sites?
