Hi guys,

Just wondering if any of you are still getting unpredictable search results.

I have a new site that was created shortly before the June update and crawled right away. It debuted this update at #10 in www2 and www3 for my main keywords. About 2 days ago it migrated to www at #10 (it had been popping in and out until then). Yesterday it moved up to #9 on www and today it's gone. :-(

The last 2 sites I've had included (other than this one) never left www after they appeared. I'm just wondering if you guys are getting unstable results too.

BTW, it's pretty interesting the difference in the number of clicks from #10 to #9; I wouldn't think it would make that much difference.

I've found that if a new site gets crawled towards the end of a crawl cycle (10th-15th of the month) the odds of it not making the final cut when the database finally settles are much higher. On the occasions where I've seen this happen, the site has always been included and stayed in the database after the second crawl.

Jen,

Here's what happened to me:

1. I got spidered a little around mid month. my site showed up randomly for a day or two in www.
2. Got included in www2 and www3 in the dance.
3. After the dance, I was in and out again for one more cycle.
(emotional rollercoaster ride -- brace yourself)
4. Got spidered heavily and completly.
5. After the next dance, I was in for good.

Of course your mileage may vary. I've got links on Yahoo and DMOZ which helped, I'm sure.

The best advice I got on this board (and there was lots of good advice) was to stop watching for a while, you'll go crazy.

In short, don't worry. Looks like you're well on your way.
