PR0 on selected pages?

New site, no tricks, no grey bar but PR0?

Hi all

I have a new site in google as of this update and some of the pages are PR0. Not greyed out but still PR0?

The common denominator between the pages is that they are all in the root directory as well as the site's index page. They are all linked from the main menu which is on every page.

The pages in actual sub directories are fine though... I just can't figure out what went wrong?

Anyone care to comment?

Many thanks

Nick

What's the index page PR, Nick? It seems like PRs are still bouncing a bit, so what you are seeing may not be a true indication yet.

Good point! I think it's a PR5 with sub directory pages at PR4

Damn! I just changed all my current projects structure to avoid doing the same, now as you've rightly pointed out, it may be a little early to tell :(

Perhaps patience is needed. I set up several sites almost exactly like you did, and within the past several months. I've found it usually takes at last a full cycle - 30 days - for Google to sort things out.

One site started a PR 4 for the index, with PR 3 for the other pages in the root. Then both went up a notch when I got some outside links pointing in.

Another site with more pages started at PR 1 for both index and other root pages. About 20 days later after this last dance the index is PR 4 and the other main root pages are PR 3, but there are only 4 inbound links, and that will jump when I get more site linking in. Pages added very recently to this site are PR 0.

The point it, it has taken weeks for the thing to settle out. And it isn't finished, yet, because the PR 0 pages are fine, I think, they just haven't been completely handled yet by google.

Nick_W, try clicking on the links a couple of times. I too had a couple of pages that came up PR0 and it scared the daylights out of me. After clicking the link a couple of times PR6 showed up! There is still too much fluctuation going on, at least here in Orange, California. The database is jumping back and forth almost every other hour.

The Google Toolbar is almost useless during this time of the month! ;)
