Hi everyone, this is my first post to WebmasterWorld, but I thought this article about a criminal being caught by Google was kinda neat. I hope it hasn't already been posted (I didn't see it):

Hello Rodney, welcome to WMW.

Google Fights Crime

I disagree. Google didn't help capture a criminal. The police detective did all the leg work. Google, like any other search engine, is nothing more than a database of information. That detective could have just as easily chose to use a different search engine and come up with the same result.

Thanks for the welcome KM (and DB).

I don't think Google solved the crime of course :) But whichever database of information the detective choose to use would have been of help to him in his investigation. In this case it was google that helped.

Yeah, I know what you meant. :)

BTW, here's the article that the detective came across (from a different search engine of course).
