FAQ: If the numbers change from www-3, is that an update?

Q: If the results numbers change from www, www2, or www3, is that an indication of an update?
A: No, not at all. Numbers can fluctuate on all 3 throughout the month. Sometimes they will be stable for days upon days, and other times they will change from page-view to page-view. It is not a reliable indicator that any thing has change at all. Only checking the actual results can determine if it was an update or not.

The serps change daily, but the number of links change monthly. The most reliable indicator of an update is checking the number of links to a major site. Do a link:yahoo.com on www,www2,www3. When the numbers differ, the update is here.

The numbers have differed twice today already on "yahoo". Not a link search, but a search (which is what keeps coming up).

Another easy way to check if the dance has started is to use one of the web google dance tools, and use a highly competitive search term you know will change a *lot* each month. When the dance starts, it should be obvious. Then double check links to www.yahoo.com to make sure.

I think the update is like being in love - if you have to ask - there is no update :)

You can just know it whe it happens.

I check a few of the listings I see every day in several different sectors (like stocks).

If they are all different - it is an update.

Also - I look for new pages - they have to ALL be there...
