Google crawled half my PR5 site, yesterday. Approx. one third of the requests returned a 304 Not Modified status code. I have only noticed crawlers receiving 304s recently and think this is A Good Thing cause it will keep traffic down. :) This will enable Google to crawl more often and continuesly update their index.
