As part of the deal, Google will also replace Inktomi as the proprietary search engine on AOL's network of sites, effective in August. This ends a nearly 3-year relationship between AOL and Inktomi in Web search for AOL's U.S. and international properties.
In the case of Inktomi, the company will lose about $2.5 million a quarter in revenue from AOL starting in August, says Sanjay Puri, analyst at Thomas Weisel.
