Why Page Rank when no backwards links?

Sometimes when I look at a webpage, it shows to have a page rank of sorts. When I go into Page Info and look at backwards links, there are none. Does that mean that this page has a page rank based on keywords?
The irony behind this particular website is that it was entirely flash based at one point and then just lots of graphics, but after I worked with the designer to optimize the site and include more text, it appears to have a page rank! And my site...I can't get listed in Google ;-)

The site in question won't show backward links if it doesn't have PageRank 4 or better. And inbound links from pages whose PR is less than 4 won't be displayed.

Your site will end up in Google if it has inbound links from other sites. There is an enormous amount of information at WebmasterWorld on what you need to do to get effective ranking. Use the "site search" link at the top of the page. Good luck.

Ah ha! Thank you beachboy! I did not know that a PR of 4 or better was needed to show up! There are so many times that I come across a website and the Google Toolbar PageRank indicator is at like 50%! The site typically sucks, so I look to see who is linking to it and all I ever find are other pages within the same website! Sometimes there is nothing to be found *sigh*

Just enter the domain name in the search field like this...

www.domain.com

Then select the "contain the term" option. That will give you a better feel for who is linking to you and who has mentioned your domain name without linking. Works well when you are dealing with PR3 issues.
