Click Popularity Updates

How often do click pop updates occur

I just noticed my listing since the new update (July 1 to
today) go from #4 to #1 on a particular key term. I know full updates happen on
the end of the month so this can't be that plus I don't
think my PR has changed(still 2).

So obviously the number of clicks my listing gets on google's database
is measured but how often is this updated? Does anyone know?

Google does occasionally run a click tracking re-direct, but it doesn't have any effect on your ranking. The fluctuations you have been seeing have been happening across the board, and are most likely due changes being made to crawling/updating patterns.
