Hello - I was pleasantly surprised to see our site (back) at number one for the main keyword combo, presumably thanks to the 'fresh' tag dated two days ago. I've noticed Googlebot calling root and robot.txt pretty much everyday, and we'd deliberately implemented something on the front page to keep the old girl coming back regularly.
Now, I've seen 'fresh' listings pop in and out of the Serps before (competitors sites, pretty much vanished down the lists again after a day or two), but what I don't get with 'our' Fresh tag is that it moved us up to number one again (from number three), but the Fresh tag has now gone and we're STILL number one, as if the Fresh tag has renedered a mid-cycle update. Any ideas/experiences here?
Obviously I'm not complaining here, I'm just amazed to see it holding. Thanks, Mat
