oh my god!...my host has a seperate server for fp extensions....i dont use it but last week my forms via my cgi bin stopped working...so i published to my fp site to use the fp form bot...the url for the fp server is fp.mysite.plus.com...whereas the other server is a straight www.mysite.co.uk ...last night i saw that google had indexed both sites cause i forgot the no-index tag on my fp site..this morning all 40 pages are gone..except for my index page from my www server!....am i history?.....did google think i was mirroring my own site!....oh my god!!!!!!!!!

soapystar, I'm not quite sure what the situation is with the two servers, and not even if you could get dropped that quickly.

Can you do a 301 on one of them to the other?

sorry..i forgot to do a follow up!...the next day the first level of my site was back...id taken away all links to the fp server!...now my www url is there but only what was indexed the next day..anything before that has gone..so i have to wait for the next deep crawl or put a link to everything from my index page!

by the way i emailed help@google and as normal only got the automated response....they are getting real bad...last week i had reason to compali about a site to altavista...they had replied to me within two days and had taken down the offending site...6 weeks of reporting via googles spam url and 3 emails hasnt even brought a response from google!

It would seem very odd for the missing pages to be due to duplicate spidering the day before. I wouldn't even expect the content to be delisted completely unless the original addresses started to return 404s or redirects.

Most odd.
