Google Validator

I am not sure if there is anything like this, but sure would be nice to have a Google Site Validator (like: CSS Validator) to meet all Googles (or any engines for that matter) requirements – Such as: Site ready for submissions, Spam detection, Robot.txt inspection… etc etc. Just a general site inspection based on Google (or other engine) standards.

This way one would know they were “up to code” with those ever changing requirements. I am sure this would reduce a lot of chitchat and guessing. But then that is what WebmasterWorld is for eh!?

Forgive me for the odd topic – Just hit me while I was checking a .css file on W3C CSS Validator.

I agree. If the search engines took validation more seriously we'd see many more properly structured pages.

They'd have to sort their own site out first though ;)

Nick_W - you were the last to post before the site went down for six hours. What the heck did you do?! ;)

But what would we all do? :)

Seriously though, there are various parts of this (Brett's robots.txt validator and server header checker for example), but to check a site properly there's always a large human element in knowing what to check depending on the site.

There's a thread about it in Community Center. It turns out that Nick broke it by hitting the submit button too hard (maybe not).
