There has been a lot of talk in this forum about cross linking between sites and how google will view this. I have a .com site with the .co.uk version. they are both run as different sites with their own content (very similar content) just before the last spidering I removed the cross links. when the update came around both homepages took a drop from pr5 to pr4. Perhaps cross linking is acceptable if the sites have similar content. I will now replace the links and see what happens next time round.

Mack, I think it's more to do with the AMOUNT of cross-linking you do and how exactly you do it!

If you have a handful (or two!) of links on a "partners and friends" page you shouldn't ever get a problem. When we talk about cross-linking it means on the index page of every site ala Google Bombing (as it's called now..) - and normally in a network of 10+ sites.

Agreed N&B. I think the only xlinking that is a problem, is between dupe content sites, or near dupe content sites. Google is weeding out this:

foo-bar.com
foobar.com
the-foo-bar.com
web-foo-bar.com
....
But not this:
foobarenglish.com
foobar-france.fr
foobar-spanish.mx...
