Group,

How often, within a month(and this is the question that I really wanted to ask)do google check a site(s)on the internet before it updates it's index(Google Index...update)?

Thanks folks,

hilton

Not that sure what you mean but I'll have a go at answering.

Google updates its database once a month at the moment, usually towards the end of the month.

Google can check your site a few times a day (usually news sites) once a day (higher PR pages, PR is page rank, the method google uses to work out how high to show your page, do a search for it to learn more) all the way down to once a month for some low PR sites.

Google has a regular (pah!) update which usually happens once a month, usually at the end of the month. For larger sites (no idea of the criteria involved here) it can spider and update the index quite often.

Group,

So, in other words, the higher the page ranking(according to google), the more often it checks that particular site(s) to index the new information; even though Google will wound up updating it's index once per month anyway. Is this thinking correct?

Thanks,
Hilton
