Do adult hosts get you banned?

I need high bandwidth (60GB per month) for one of my sites and after browsing the hosting company sites, hosts for the adult industry seem to offer the best rates at the moment (all that streaming media I guess). Anyone know if I'll have problems with the search engines if my IP comes from a adult-related host?

A lot of people worry about being on the same IP address as spammers. Some engines have been known to ban IPs in the past.

I'd be quite surprised if the type of content could cause an IP based penalty in itself, but I wouldn't like to say never.

Don't know if it could get you banned in search engines, but if the adult site was "unethical" (for example, spamming) you could find yourself banned in the blackhole lists. Also, I suppose it would be possible for some family filters to be fooled because they might block the IP and not the name...

Im currently hosted on a 60gb transfer a month and 2gig space for $24.95 a month. They are excellent hosts support is great to. You can have as many websites on the space as you want.

My hosting company had some issues with Google.
Technical issues.
As a result I had almost 90 domains completely disappear from Google over-night. So did everyone else hosted by this company.

During the research phase to figure out what happened, Google stated they don't ban by IP they ban by domain. (I haven't seen that in writing but that is what I've been told for a reliable source)

And as an example of the "majic" of Google... All the domains where added back to the index within a week. All of them back to the same positions as they were when they got kicked out.
