I did a search and found other subjects on this topic but they were quite old (webmaster - one idea is to get the search engine to rank results in either by date or by relevance and give users the choice).

So my question is. What are these votes for ? If I vote a hundred times a day for my own site would this be regarded as spam.

If I get a hundred people a day on different comps with different IP's etc to vote would this help my SERP or page ranking ?

Does Google release any info on the votes ?

What does it mean for SERPS and PR if I vote against someone ?

I have only just downloaded the google toolbar and so am curious how all this works.

Thanks.

At current the voting buttons on the Google Toolbar just sends the information to Google. They are reviewing how people use the functionality to see if it is a function worth developing.
