Line break in a href

Are links with line breaks within the href-sequence followed by google?

Although the heading above says all I'd like to know:

Can links with line-breaks within the href-sequence be followed by googlebot? If the reg-engine is applied to pages line by line, i guess it won't; but does anyone have insights into the true nature of the way this is handled?
