Page file names - are they important?

(e.g. DoesThisMatter.html)

I was just wondering if there is any better format to name pages in order to increase my Google ratings. For example, does it hurt that I have a page named "(235)233-3045.html"? It is very useful for customers since it is our phone number, but I'm not sure if this upsets the Googlebots.

Most of my pages and directories are named with some relevant search term, but this page serves a different purpose. However, this is my second page on the site and contains quite a bit of info. Please let me know what is best here, thanks!

Welcome cutmoney!

There is absolutely no doubt that all (nearly all?) engines love url extensions the way you have been making them. The more precise all of your url extensions, the better:

>Most of my pages and directories are named with some relevant search term

However I have never seen one with a telephone number in it as you describe.

Why should Google, et al, have a problem? I can't think of any reason why, it's correctly formatted and, for certain when someone types that number in, it would be picked up and displayed.

My question has to be, why have a URL page with your phone number when someone already knows it?

Come on, let us in on the secret:-))

I am very intrigued!
