Strange rankings for website on Google

My site is 2nd on Google when the keyword is searched with allinanchor, 2nd when searched with allintext, 1st when searched with alintitle. But it is below 600th results when just keyword is searched.

What does that mean?

How can I get the 2nd position on Google when just the keyword is searched?

just because your site has a very high keyword density doesn't mean that you'll rank high in google. If that were the case, it'd be cake to bring any site to number one. First of all, you might be triggering a spam filter. Second you're most likely lacking in your incoming links.

jus keep updating your site and find the most number of links to that page.

Not if ranking #2 for allinanchor.

If your site is less than a year old you are likely sandboxed. If that is the case the only ways out I have heard of don't fall within Google's webmaster guidelines. I imagine you rank well in the other engines (or will soon). They seem willing to accept that if it looks like a rose, smells like a rose, acts like a rose... it might just be a rose. Google can't or is unwilling to accept this..

1) Wait till a SERPS update happens.
2) There is a possiblity that you might rank higher as your scores with allinchor and allintext etch are good but this is no hard and fast rule to ensure an actual good ranking. There are various other factors involved. My site ranks 15-20 with the above factors but in actual SERPS its ranked in top 5. So you see what i mean.
