Doing some legwork for a friend who designed a site for someone. The site doesn't run adsense so I'm not doing a disservice to anyone by mentioning the url: <snip>. The person emailed me and said they have no placement in google. Sure enough, though the site has backlinks, google is not showing any and the cache is a year out of date. Anyway, there are a host of things wrong with this site---same title on most or all pages, not seo'd properly, yadda yadda. No problem figuring all that out.

My question is this: I checked with the linkdomain command on yahoo and found a bunch of backlinks from something called <snip> to this site. This thing purports to be an automated internet marketing thing. Smells bad already to me. I seem to recall a conversation somewhere about this thing and that it wasn't well regarded. Anyone ever heard of it and any fallout from those who've used it?
