Google crawling but not updating

Google crawled my website a few days ago and is extraordinary late in updating.
Anyone else noticed this?

Yes, my rankings are definitely improving in Google.. I also received 1,074 hits in one day from this IP address (64.233.172.21) I checked the whois info and it belongs to Google. I am not sure if this is a new Google-bot or it has something to do with Google's desktop search (google-tr-1).

Google is not only crawling, but updating within 6 hours of the crawl.

I created a brand new page. Googlebot came by at 1:52am and crawled the page.

By 8:00am the page not only showed up as number #1 for the term I was going after, it also shows up as being indexed.

It did not flux in and out, it just plain stuck!

So, no I have not noticed this. I have noticed that Yahoo and MSN move like a river of mud when updating their index. Google beats them hands down.

For my industry at least.

I have noticed a few players in our industry with no1 - no5 positions and cached pages from the 20th December.

Strange, theres definitely something in the proverbial water.
