Ads Between Regular Search Results.

Just did a search and got some strange search results.

I just did a litle check on google.com to see how some of my keywords were doing on google.
When I entered a word, it said "showing results 1 - 10, but in fact it showed 20 results.

Besides that, there was also a commercial site showing up 3 times with their homepage with 3 different titles within the first 10 results.

I guess that should normally not be possible and would be ads instead of real search results. Anybody?

Sometimes, people get some non-Google advertisements in the results pages due to extra software on their PC.

Sometimes, Google try a new results page design and deliver it to a small number of users.

Your description seems rather unusual though.

Yes there are certain types of adware that surreptitiously embed their own links into the displayed page in such a manner as to appear to be normal SE listings.

Track down the application and *please* report the culprits to Google.

Run some of the popular adware scanners and spyware scanners. Should identify the program responsible.

Thanks people, indeed it was adware running on my pc. It added search results to the google results.

I didn't know that that was possible...amazing. Well I got ride of several adware programs, and search results are back to normal for me now.
