Google image results in SERPs

Between the holidays and just being super-busy, I haven't been paying as close attention to WebmasterWorld as normal (slap me on the wrist, I know), so pardon me if this is old news. A quick search of the archives didn't reveal what I'm looking for.

I just ran a search on Google, and for the first time I'm seeing them pull three images and display those above the regular SERPs -- in the same position they show news or Froogle results, etc.

How long has this been going on? I've only been able to get images on a single search so far......
