High Listings, But Only for a Few Days

Hey,

I have a friend that is struggling with ranking for his Affiliate sites. For some strange reason his last 2 times he has created a couple small sites and ranked #1 for the money terms in that industry. For instance he just built a 6 page site in a semi competitve industry. The main term for the home page has 7,120,000 competing when you just type in the KeyWord and 64,000 when you type it in with brackets.

He is already ranked #1 for this KeyWord, like he did with the last site. His site still has a PR of 0. The problem is that everytime he gets these quick listings they dissapear within almost as soon as they come up there. He has had this money term for a few days, and I am not too sure how long it will last being a new site and all.

Thoughts?

This is classic sandbox behaviour. New sites tend to jump in at the top then disappear for an indefinite period. I have sites that I launched in February and March last year and they are still sandboxed. A few people here claim to have found a way round this but I certainly have not.

Hey,

Thanks. I thought it was the sandbox that people talk about. There has to be one. Before the sandbox sites were getting indexed relatively well, right? Does anyone here have it where some of their sites are getting in, and some aren't?

I won't stop until the internet is full of em' :) Seriously though, what is your reason for saying that? A lot of Affiliate sites provide good content. So only the guys that got in on it when it first started should be able to do it? So now people should just create sites for the hell of it? Explain...

I have a site that is for really non competitive KWs. There are only 3 other sites that genuinely fit the KWs however the site languishes around the 75-125 position.

The site has loads of original content, is listed in the DMOZ for the relevant category and was even accepted for Google News. But still does badly for the KWs.

However, once, for about a week it appeared at no. 3, which without being biased is where it should be (not 1 or 2).

Sorry, is this supposed to be relevant?!

A lot of Affiliate sites provide good content.

"A lot" may be stretching it a bit. I haven't found any.

"Affiliate sites provide good content"

Some may eventually get you to "good content" after a few minutes of wasted time.

Hey,

"A lot" may be stretching it a bit. I haven't found any.

Maybe you haven't looked that hard then. I know of many.

Let's get this post back on topic instead of discussing morals or other crap please.

All the Best,
