does google not like Marquee

does it not like marquee?

i have placed a marquee on the bottom of my page,
it has heaps of hidden keywords.. does google notice this and can i be penalised?
as i have a page with a pr of 5 thats still at 5 even tho i used this technique..

any ideas.. steve.

Hi,
If you were a bot, would you stop reading as soon as you noticed a <marquee> tag? No you wouldn't.
Don't know about your second question though. Depends on the amount of keywords in there, I guess.

PR has nothing to do with on page optimization as far as I know. It is calculated from incoming links.
I have no idea if the gbot grabs it, don't really know why it would because it is too easy to abuse.
I feel that a marquee is sooooo 1998.

They may not notice the "heaps of hidden keywords" yet because of the marquee tag, but you can bet once they do that you will be penalized for them.
