A couple of questions on the state of their update schedule.

A small poll:

1. Are you experiencing, to an extent, what could be considered a perpetual update where your sites go up and down in position on a semi-regular basis?

-or-

2. Are most of you having to wait until the "Big Updates" to notice any change.

I see a continuos update for several sites.

Some sites I manage were scoring about the same wwith singular and plural terms; now there is a sensible difference.

I see small changes almost every day. It is difficult to tell if this is "Google update activity" or reflects website update activity.

Overall, I have seen no substancial changes for several months. The tweaks that worked after Florida all seem to be as effective today. The relative emphasis between on-page and off-page comes and goes. The elements that determine position among the first page contenders shift a little from week to week, but at the end of a month little has changed.

I am not waiting for a "big update", just plugging away at the known variables. Pay attention to them all and it really doesn't matter what G's flavor of the week might be.
