Dead Links + Link Text

My homepage is a PR6 and pretty much all internal pages linked off of it are PR4 but have some pages linked from there which has gone down to PR1 and the pages no longer appear in the serps. I found on all those pages there was either a dead link or an affiliate link of some kind which now doesnt exist and then link takes you an affiliate network homepage (ie nothing to do with the text link I created).Would this be the likely cause of the pages being removed? I have now removed all the incorrect links.

This will be interesting to find out. I found some bad old links on some of my pages that had trouble. I just corrected them so we'll see what happens to both of us.
