>> you can push it to the limit.

While I agree with that, most people don't know or test their limits. Still recovering from six month old stupidity.... :)

Chris,

Thanks for response im on with dmca myself but like you havent got round to Y & M yet when when they remove a page it shows on the search results on G as a dmca removed page , you can hit the link and view the correspondance sent in to remove the page.
Can you tell me where to find the copyright site please.
We can usually prove our content ownership with the way back machine cos weve been around longer than most, but the copyright thingmy wil definatley help with newer content.
At the moment we have one site claiming they bought our content from somewhere.Going through the court process with them fortunatly they are in the uk.Its costing £3k just to get to a stage ready for court and that with us doing most of the donkey work.

not fair is it

I would like to revisit the issue of dup content. Is Brett saying that, for example, if another site copies your content that you (the creator) will be penalized because there is now dup content out there?

And second, what about dup content on the same site?

Zach,

Search google (US) for the word copyright. If you're in the UK, you might search for 'US copyright' (I just tested it and it appears to work fine). The form we filed is Form TX. We used Acrobat to download the ENTIRE web site. Next, you print out five sample "deposit" pages (it's all explained in the instructions). Fill out form TX, put $30 in with it all, and you should be set...

Hope that helps.

Chris
