All the Web / pages in UK Only

different rankings

I have a ranking on google UK where I am 7th out of 130,000 on the all the web section, but if I change to 'pages from the UK only' which obviously there are less are then I dont rank in the top 100. Any ideas why this could be? I have quite a few other pages where my rank is higher as expected on UK the all

Sometimes different searches go to different data centres, so the results are hard to correlate.

A similar example is searching for my name...

Derek H#*$!xx returns 15000
"Derek Hxxxxx" (which should be less), returns 32000

It's a sad fact that prodding Google doesn't get it to talk very coherently...
